September Stitch From Stash and Pie

Let's start the post with some pie!

Quite a successful last few days of the month.  I completed the second block on the Bothy Threads 12 Days of Christmas and ticked off a box on my WIPGO Board for that.

stitched on 32 count grey-blue linen

Here are the first two Days completed:

My goal is to complete Day 3 by the end of the year.

Another last minute finish, this was the Summer Band Sampler SAL with the Just Nan Junkies.  I completed the stitching but needed time to sort out which beads I was going to use as I didn't have the embellishment pack.  Then I decided to stitch the little ornament Nan included in with the main chart:

stitched on 28 count Lilac Brittney evenweave

So many pretty stitches and different effects in this sampler

Not so silent hours in my case as this was stitched over the Summer Holidays with a very not silent child sitting next to me!

This line reminds me of my dear friend Vickie and her blog A Stitcher's Story

Love these tassels

This is the Ornament design she included:

Hopefully this will be FFO'd in time for Rachel's FFO Gallery.

I took the Tiny Modernist Greenhouse to work and continued with the outline:

stitched on 28 count grey-blue evenweave

The WIPGO Board is looking great now, with four numbers ticked off in September!

The numbers called for October included one spooky project and one non-spooky project so that one will have to wait until November.

Stitch From Stash looks like I spent a lot but it was all Birthday money so a nil return for September.

I have received three of the Nora Corbett Zodiac charts already and I'm waiting for the next three.  I do plan to collect all 12 but they will have to wait until Christmas now.

The Stitch It Picasso spend was an impluse thanks to Tiff and Rachel.  I bought the Dragons they were stitching and also the Zodiac series and some Haunted Houses.  Here's the link to the shop - Stitch It Picasso on Etsy

As Leonore guessed, it didn't take me long to start one!

Here is the first colour completed on Dragon 2:

32 count Autumnal Woodland by Crafty Kitten

I started with Dragon 2 because when I cut the piece of fabric I had, it was the perfect size for three of the dragons.  The dragons are different sizes and shapes so it make the best use of the fabric I am stitching them out of order.

Finally, there will be a Hallowe'en Trick or Treat Blog Hop as usual this year. I am sure you all know how it works but for those who need a reminder - here's a link to last year's

If you want to take part, just leave a comment here or email me if you are a "no reply" person. I need an email address for you to take part in this hop.

CCN Main Street Hallowe'en Conversion

I promised a full post on my latest shop and here it is.

stitched on 32 count Murano in Charcoal Slate from Sparklies

This is the original design:

You can see that I took the original colours and just darkened them a bit.  The peachy-orange walls became peachy-brown.  The green awnings and door became lime-green and the trims a dark brown.  The upstairs curtains stayed the same purple.

Then I added the brass cauldron sign, some cauldrons in the window and a large cauldron bubbling away for demonstration purposes so passing witches could gather around it rather than be seated at a nice little patio table.  All of these extras were designed by me using pencil and graph paper.

Here are the three completed shops so far:

Originally I planned to put another tree to the left of this shop but then I discovered that Waxing Moon Designs do a whole series of houses which should fit perfectly!

So once I have stitched all ten of the shops I can choose four of these to go in the corners.

The WIPGO Board has called CCN Main Street again for October so I will be adding another shop next month.  The Bakery will be going next to Cauldrons, but of course it won't be a Bakery.  In fact it's not going to be anything edible!

September WIPocalypse New Starts

         WIPocalypse

WIPocalypse is hosted by Measi's Musings

Each month we have to share the projects we want to complete before the End Of The World.  Since 2011 I have chosen a number of projects to focus on that year, starting with my "11 in '11" and increasing to "21 in '21" for this year.  This month I stitched on 6 of them and met 2 WIPGO Goals.

5. Nora Corbett Gathering Eggs - a finish!

8. Just Nan Scream House

stitched on 28 count Wood Violet linen from Permin

10. Stoney Creek 12 Days of Christmas

stitched on 32 count Lime Green Linen

13. Bothy Threads 12 Days of Christmas - stitching finished, couched outline to be added

17. Just Nan Follow the Needle

Also started the little Ornament chart which comes with the main sampler

20. CCN Halloween Village Cafe

The full list can be seen here - WIPocalypse and 21 in 21

Measi always gives us a topic to discuss too:

September  – List five projects you have unstarted in your stash that you’d like to start something in the (relatively) near future.

Only five?  That's so difficult!  But I dived into the box next to me and pulled out these four (technically seven because of the seasons!)

First up, Princess Elliana by Mirabilia.  I have an idea for a conversion for this one.
Next, the Seasons from Cricket Collection.  I'd like to stitch these as cubes with one letter per cube.
I've not stitched a Blue Flower design yet and I love Night Walked Down.
Next to her is The Halloween Sampler by Cottage Garden.  I even have the thread for that one!

The fifth design set is one I saw on Rachel and Tiff's blogs as part of their Para-Olympic Stitching.  These will be a series of 12 Dragons.  Even better, the fabric was a gift from Rachel!  It's a piece of 32 count Autumnal Woodland by Crafty Kitten which was wrong for the project Rachel bought it for.  I used it to stitch an Ink Circles' Mandala and have enough left for these dragons.

Here are three pieces cut to size for three of the dragons:

And here are the colours used for all the designs:

September Smalls

The Smalls SAL is hosted by Mary's Thread

This year my Smalls will be the Stoney Creek 12 Days of Christmas 2019 Ornament series which I started on Boxing Day 2020 for the 12 Days of Stitchmas.

September was Nine Ladies Dancing, well only one lady but she seems to be having fun:

I added September to my Tiny Modernist Calendar:

stitched on 32 count Summer Sky Belfast linen from Silkweavers

I continued with The Primitive Hare Celebrations series, stitching Mabon which is the Autumnal Equinox and celebrated this past week:

stitched on 35 count Cream Linen

September IHSW

IHSW or International Hermit and Stitch Weekend always starts on the third Friday of the month.  It's a chance to lock yourself away and focus on your stitching for the weekend.  You can take part on your blog or via the Facebook page - IHSW on Facebook.

This weekend I focused on to my Bothy Threads 12 Days of Christmas design.  My goal is 3 blocks on this for the year and there's only 3 months to stitch (not stitching Christmas in Dark October!) so I need to get cracking.

Last month I completed all the Olive Green background for Day 2 first and here is where I finished:

I forgot to take a photo at the start of IHSW but here is the current  progress:

stitched on 32 count grey-blue linen

All the fill-in on the 2 is going to be gold metallic!

Today is also the first posting date for Clare's new SAL - The Topsy-Turvy SAL.  This month the theme was New Year.  Unfortunately I haven't got space for a new start but I did stitch on the project I was working on on 1st January - 12 Days of Christmas from Stoney Creek so I am going to see if Clare allows shoe-horns!

Finally the next IHSW will be 15th - 17th October so make sure you note the date in your diary or come and join us in the Facebook Group - IHSW on Facebook.  If you don't do Facebook then you can check in here by leaving a comment on my post.

Gifted Gorgeousness September Link-up Post

Welcome to the September Gifted Gorgeousness link-up.  The link-up date continues to be the 15th and I will keep the link-up open until the end of each month so you have plenty of time if you are late posting.

The format remains exactly the same, there is a list of rules on the main sign-up page if you want to check what is required but basically anything connected to the word "gift" is allowed, whether it was a gift TO you or is a gift FROM you.

Deb sent me the charts for the Stoney Creek 2019 Ornaments which were my Stitchmas project this year. I started all 12, one per day and will be completing one per month.  September is for Ladies Dancing:

stitched on 32 count Lime Green evenweave

The WIPGO Board chose Fairy Idyll for August.  The chart (and extras) was a gift from a friend.  By the end of the month I had reached this point:

stitched on 32 count Vineyard Murano from Crafty Kitten

Gathering Eggs by Nora Corbett, the chart was a gift from a friend.  This was a triumphant finish at the start of this month:

stitched on 35 count Vintage Country Mocha Linen

This next project is stitched from charts which were Birthday gifts and on fabric which was a giveaway gift.  It is my spooky conversion of the CCN Main Street designs.  I completed my third shop this weekend.  The Cafe became Cauldrons:

stitched on 32 count Murano in Charcoal Slate from Sparklies

I'll do a full post about the changes I made later this month.

The Bothy Threads 12 Days of Christmas kit was a Christmas present:

Now it is your turn to show us your Gifted Gorgeousness for the month. Please use your name or your blog name in the field and NOT the words "September Update" so I can easily see who has linked up this month. And link to the actual post, not just your blog. It is easier if you copy and paste the link, rather than typing freehand.

Finally, I received a lovely gift myself from Kerry in Stitches.  I won a giveaway on her Flosstube channel and she sent me a box of loveliness which I have not had time to photograph yet so I will add the pictures in when I do!
