April Just Nan SAL

This  month I stitched my Nan quota on another band sampler!!  This one belongs to Rachel and she said we could stitch anything we liked which went with the existing bands.  I chose the broader bands from Sweet Rememberance and the narrow bands from Cynthia's Sampler.  The charted colours from Sweet Rememberance worked well with a couple of tweaks.

And this is the whole piece, taken in a different light.  It is very hard to get the colours quite accurate.

The fabric is Garden Princess by Sugar Maple Fabrics (in case you were wondering!)

I haven't managed any stitches on Winter Typography this month as I've been stitching a Wedding Sampler instead.  So that's it for Nan News.

The trick to the Mystery Phrase is to think of something that can be adjusted to fit the number of participants.  So I could have had Showers Bring Flowers if two more people had joined in, for example.  The actual phrase was

a very suitable phrase for this Spring so far!  As usual, there are two winners; one from the Picture Posters and one from the Hoppers.  With no further ado they are:

Congratulations to them both.  There will be an Easter themed prize crawling it's way to you some time not very soon!!  I intend to get them in the mail before the chocolate expires and I'm forced to eat it myself.

Finally, the Large Boy and I had a bit of a bonding session last week, we built our first flat-pack together!  I am the Master of the Flat Pack in this house, I built the desk in the office all by myself, including the cupboards underneath it.  So here is our finished bookcase:

Those are all the books that were just lying around on the floor or piled on top of the existing book shelves!

Since the last Just Nan SAL post I have finished the rows on Measi's Band Sampler and sent it off to Kathy.  Here is my part of the sampler:

As part of March Madness (for Theme-a-licious) I started a new Just Nan, the second in the Typography collection; Winter Typography.  Here is my progress:

I love all the different fonts on this one and the sweet little over 1 bird too.

The final Just Nan I am stitching is another instalment on the Band Sampler Round Robin.  Rachel has also given us free rein as long as it co-ordinates with her bands.  I have chosen two JNs, narrow bands will come from Cynthia's Sampler and deeper bands from Sweet Rememberance.  Here is my progress so far:
