June Gifted Gorgeousness Link-up Post

Welcome to the June Gifted Gorgeousness link-up.  The link-up date continues to be the 15th and I will keep the link-up open until the end of each month so you have plenty of time if you are late posting.

The format remains exactly the same, there is a list of rules on the main sign-up page if you want to check what is required but basically anything connected to the word "gift" is allowed, whether it was a gift TO you or is a gift FROM you.

My main project for Gifted Gorgeousness has been my Discworld Mappe by Lyndisfarne Designs, which will be a gift for my son.  This is the portion I have been working on in June, finished The Blowing Man, stitched some border and started the final turtle flipper:

I have shown a picture of the first shop in my Spooky Conversion of Main Street by Country Cottage Needleworks before but here are some more close-up photos of the details:

I changed the name from "Books" to "Grimoires"

and made the chimney a little bit crooked:

This is a photo of the original shop:

CCN Main Street - Bookshop

I kept the basic colour scheme of yellow and purple but changed it to a more limey-green yellow and darker purples.  The window and door frames are dark brown and the fence went black.  While the tree became an autumnal tree using DMC 4130, a variegated red/orange/brown.  For the books, I followed the original colour scheme but went dark and added black labels instead of yellow.  One final touch was to add the number above the door - 98.  The same number which appears on the door of the shop where I work.

Four of my Just Nan Smalls were gifts from Brenda and one from Mary:

The final gifted project for this month is the 12 Days of Christmas by JBW.  Two of my friends bought two charts each for my Christmas present.  I started one design per day for the 12 Days of Stitchmas and have completed the Sixth Day:

stitched on 40 count white linen, 1 over 2

, and added the beads to Days 4 - 6:

Now it is your turn to show us your Gifted Gorgeousness for the month.  Please use your name or your blog name in the field and NOT the words "June Update" so I can easily see who has linked up this month.  And link to the actual post, not just your blog.  It is easier if you copy and paste the link, rather than typing freehand.

Finally, it is IHSW this weekend and also The Longest Day on Saturday.  As I mentioned before, I will not be able to stitch my usual marathon on that day.  The plan instead is to stitch for half an hour on every active WIP throughout the weekend.  I will be posting as I go on the IHSW FB group and do my usual round-up on Monday.

If you want to join in, please do!  Just leave a comment and I will come and visit you next week.

I love visiting your blog...sadly I've been too busy to do it lately, but so glad I could today! I love your Discworld, and that man blowing is wonderful! As always your stitching is lovely. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your Just Nan pieces. Your changes in the LHN piece is wonderful! And of course, your 12 days are looking beautiful. I'm sorting through my stash and found tons of Just Nan patterns and two other 12 days patterns...I think I'll start thinking about what to stitch for next year! Thanks again for hosting GG!!

The blowing man as blown me away , well done he looks fab.
I really don't know how you keep up with all your beautiful stitching .
I set up each night with 3 smalls and 1 large but things happen like phone ringing , TV , Hubby wanting a drink , or shouting look at this outside.
I do sit and stitch in the day time in the Winter but in the warmer weather I am outside or sorting .
I must try and put a few more moments aside for my stitching .
Have fun .

Ha ha! Just what June said, same here! I don’t know how you manage all your stitching, blogging and keeping up with everyone! I can’t do it ..... I’m so easily distracted! A couple of nights ago it was a badger in the garden, and taking photos which are on Instagram as they were on my 📱! Can’t put them on the blog as I’ve never tried adding 📱 photos, so far. I guess it should be possible now, maybe?!
I love your Blowing Man. You’ve done so well with Discworld.
I’ve enjoyed catching up with you and your stitching, I will try to link up for GG this month. I actually almost finished a post last month but felt a bit guilty to link when I haven’t for so long!
Hugs,
Barbara xx

I cannot possibly catch up with all your posts - I think because I'm working from home when I turn my work computer off, I just can't bring myself to turn on my own so I am so far behind on reading and posting on everyone's blogs. Everything looks great. Love the Blowing Man. Every time I see your map, I think I need to pull my books out and get started on the series, but like all my other good intentions... ;-)

Great work on the map - you know I love these turtle flippers so I'm both excited and a little sad to see you working on the last one! Your bookshop conversion looks awesome as well, as do the days of Christmas.

It must be so nice to be done all that backstitch on Blowing Man, my goodness!! Lovely work on the others too, as always.

Ah, I see the bottom border of the Mappe! That must have been quite an exciting point to reach. Looks like you're definitely on track for your planned finish.
And so many other gorgeous gifts too. It's nice when you can change things slightly to add your own personal touches; it makes any gift just that little bit more special. :)
