This SAL is all about what you want to see on the blog. Each month I ask for suggestions for themes and then put them up to the members of the IHSW Group on FB to vote for their choice. This is what they have chosen:
February - Snow
March - Quilts
April - Series of Designs
We don't actually have any snow at the moment and haven't had any so far this year, it's been quite mild. But as we have been known to have snow at Easter, I'm not counting it out yet!
How serendipitous - I was looking for snow photos and found this one of the Small Boy in the garden. I popped it in the post and then checked the date - 5th February 2012 - exactly 10 years ago today!
I'm not an enormous fan of stitching snowy designs, all that white shows up every imperfection! But I had a little look at my Happy Dance blog to see what I could find. Incidentally, the Happy Dance blog is now totally up to date! I was leaving posts in "draft" mode until I FFO'd the piece but I decided to get them all published to make it easier for things like this.
Joan Elliott - The Snow Queen from The Year of Magical Stitches
Just Nan - Mitten Men and Snow Faces
Just Nan - Holly Berry Snowflakes
Just Nan - Snow Forest
The Little Stitcher - 12 Days of Christmas Day of Snow and Ice
this was a series of snowy pictures, not themed on the traditional 12 Days of Christmas but on her own themes for each day. I have stitched all 12 and started to scrapbook them...
You can read more about them here - The Little Stitcher 12 Days of Christmas
Now it's over to you. All you have to do is make a post on the theme of Snow, mention The People's Choice SAL (you can copy the picture I used at the top of this post and in my side bar) and my blog. Please link up using the URL of the actual blog post, not the home page of your blog. I look forward to seeing what you all post.

Finally, I need your suggestions for the next poll. Anything, no matter how obscure, weird or random will go into the poll. Keep the theme suggestions to a single word or two - so you could have Cats, or Green, or Holidays, or Warmth etc. Really anything which could be illustrated in cross stitch.

You have some beautiful snow pieces. I love the snow and ice Little Stitcher.
Another very happy place to visit , love your wonderful stitching.
Have a happy weekend .
I was quite sure to see an "all white stitching" (A mon ami Pierre I think) in this post... But I'm glad to see the snow forest and that lovely lady waiting with her hands warm in this elegant fur muff! xxx
Love the variety of your "white" stitching!! The Joan Elliot piece is Magical!
Funny, but I somehow expected you to have lots of snow designs, and am really surprised that the ones you do have are all quite small. How lovely they are though, and how lovely you also found an anniversary photo but, 10 years down the line, Small Boy can't be quite so 'small' anymore! :)
You have some lovely snowy stitches but of course I like the Just Nan the best! Thank you for hosting!
You do a lot more snow/white stitching than I do. All beautiful!
I love snow, we're hoping for some here. I guess being retired it doesn't cause so much disruption to us now. Your snowy stitching is lovely.
Very pretty snow pieces, Jo! I stitch a lot of them, as you know, and enjoy them all. Although I do find myself miscounting on snowflakes quite often which is frustrating! Your photo of your son having fun in the snow 10 years ago is so cute... kids do love the snow and never seem to get cold. Enjoy your week ♥
Jo, some lovely snow pieces there, thanks for sharing but now I am off to look at your Happy Dance blog.
Some very pretty designs here. I do like The Little Stitcher patterns and the Snow Queen piece.
Would love a cat theme!
How about.. specialty stitches or beads, or holidays or beaches.
A lovely selection of snow stitching Jo. I really must stitch JN's Snow Forest as I like your finish.
Your snow queen is really beautiful, so much detail in a small piece. Snow Forest is very pretty too. I used to dislike stitching white for the same reason, but I made peace with the process, now I find it soothing.
It's always nice to see snow stitching - pretty without the cold!
I'm still waiting for a good dose of the heavy stuff, wishful thinking at this point.
You got a cute selection of snowy pictures there! I found more than I thought I would.
