January WIPocalypse Introduction

WIPocalypse is hosted by Measi's Musings

Each month we have to share the projects we want to complete before the End Of The World. Measi always gives us a topic to discuss too.

January - Introduce yourself, your projects, and any goals you have for the year

Since 2011 I have chosen a number of projects to focus on that year, starting with my "11 in '11" and increasing to "21 in '21" for this year. For 2021 the list includes some older WIPs, some BAP new starts and some partworks as well as seasonal stitching.

Here are the WIPs:

This is the full list of 21:
  1. Ernie Bishop NOEL Letters
  2. Samplermakers Spring Sampler
  3. Joan Elliott Faces SAL (2 blocks)
  4. Chatelaine Gardens of London
  5. Nora Corbett Gathering Eggs
  6. Amanda Butler Alice in Wonderland
  7. Lin Pulsion Bubbles of Happiness
  8. Just Nan Scream House
  9. Tiny Haunted Village by Various Designers
  10. Stoney Creek 12 Days of Christmas
  11. Carriage House Samplings Halloween at Hawk Run Hollow
  12. Mirabilia Fairy Idyll
  13. Bothy Threads 12 Days of Christmas
  14. Hands on Designs Scary Apothecary 4
  15. Hands on Designs Scary Apothecary 5
  16. Hands on Designs Scary Apothecary 6
  17. Just Nan Summer Sampler TBA
  18. Just Nan Witchy Mice
  19. CCN Halloween Village 2
  20. CCN Halloween Village 3
  21. CCN Halloween Village 4
And this is the New Starts collage:

So far this year I have stitched on the Stoney Creek 12 Days of Christmas designs:

Day 7

Day 8

Day 9

I am also taking part in WIPGO for the first time.  This is a FB Bingo group.  You choose 25 goals for the year and each month the Admin pick two numbers to focus on.  When you have met your goal, you tick off that block.  You can give yourself rewards for completing a row or a column.

Here's my WIPGO board:

For January the numbers 6, 13 and 18 have been called.  13 can be a free square so they call a third number in the month it appears.

The planned rotation this year will be:

Just Nan Daily Sampler - stitch a little bit each day, ideally first thing in the morning.
Just Nan smalls - aim to complete one per month. Will also be travel and work projects.
Evening stitching - smalls

Week 1 - complete the Stoney Creek 12 Days of Christmas for the month, then either a CCN shop or the HoD Scary Apothecary design

Week 2 - stitch the first WIPGO number

Week 3 - stitch the second WIPGO number

Week 4 - use Tiny Decisions to decide which project to stitch

The WIPocalypse posts are the last Sunday of each month

My other SALs are

The People's Choice - posts on the first Saturday of each month - theme in sidebar
Fully Finished Gallery - post anything fully finished on the 10th of each month
Gifted Gorgeousness - post anything gifted on the 15th
Smalls SAL - last Friday of each month

The TUSAL - post on the New Moon each month

Finally, I will be continuing with the ever popular Blog Hops this year. We will have Valentine's, Easter, the Summer Postcard, Hallowe'en and the Advent Calendar. All at the appropriate time of the year. I will be posting about the Secret Stitching Sweethearts for Valentine's Day very soon so watch this space.

WOW, you are going to be busy this year. I find it interesting when and which project you decide to stitch for the month. I always find it hard to focus on more than one project. I look forward to watching you juggle so many throughout the year and I won’t even feel stressed. :)

Hi Jo, A wonderful WIPocalypse list as always and you are always so good with finishing your goals, too. I love the bingo board, too. But, you know me, I start out with good intentions but then find that I get sidetracked by other projects along the way - so now WIPocalypse for me this year - lol!

That's an impressive list of projects for 2021. The Bingo looks very complicated but I'm sure will be fun. Good luck with your 2021 stitching

Good luck with all of your stitching and WIPGO plans. You have a really good selection of smalls and BAPs. Looks like you should get through about 2/3rds of them, if life remains on course. Have fun! :)

How do you do it all.
You have some beautiful stitching on the go .
I wish I could get more organized , but I seem to be getting slower ha .
This year will be a mix of everything for me and hoping for a few finishes .

Gorgeous projects and you have a wonderful variety of seasonals, sizes, styles, etc. Your idea for the rotation with the random 4th week sounds fun. I can't wait to see your Alice finished, as I just started mine. The new starts are lovely, especially Fairy Idyll and the Bothy one, all of them, really. Happy new year and best of luck to meet your 2021 goals

I'm always amazed to see all of your ongoing projects, Jo! As June mentioned, the older we get, the slower we get. I thought I would have all this time to stitch when I retired and I do, but my energy level is just not there any more. Oh well :) Looking forward to seeing all of your progress in these lovely WIPs this year! Happy New Year!

I am totally in awe of your organisational bent and fortitude to not have your head turned by new projects. I've got a list of only 10 and I'm trying to work out which one to work on and when.
I will look forward to seeing your progress on this one. I don't feel so bad about not starting my Boothy Threads 12 Days yet...

Great plans! WIPGO is pretty fun, I joined in late last year and mostly caught up with everything that had been called. I don't think I made my parts hard enough, so I will change that up for this year.

Great mix of projects. I especially love the 12 Days - that has been on my wish list for ages so will enjoy watching your progress on it.

Oh, so many fun plans this year! Love to see some of the returning WIPs, but I'm also excited about the new starts. WIPGO looks like fun - what are you doing about those squares like Maynia and The Longest Day that you can't really do in the months they have been called?

You have many pretty WIPs and new starts for 2021. You are reminding me that I had better get going on my January WIPGO calls. I am looking forward to seeing your progress.

I honestly don't know how you stay so organised with your stitching, let me know when you have time to come sort me out!
Maybe I'll start my Halloween at Hawk Run Hollow this year, I'm just not sure if I'll do it all together or separately.
