It's the first TUSAL of the year, the Totally Useless SAL where we all show our ORTS and link-up on Daffycat's blog.
Before I could take the photo I had to empty my main jar from last year:
I have put these into a bag and will stuff an ornie at some point. Or just save them in a bag for no reason.
Then I emptied my two ORT tins into the jar and took this month's photo:
On the left is Joan Elliott's 12 Days of Christmas. I have diligently been stitching the metallic on both sides of the red border. There is a lot of metallic and I can manage one or two lengths per evening:
On the right is my Ten-a-Day project, Just Nan's Spring in the Square:
It looks like a Birthday cake on top, it's actually a gazebo! At least I will be able to tell which way is the top now, there is only one gazebo to stitch.
You can see the Christmas project above and here's a close-up of the Partridge for January:
I also stitched a tiny, over 1 on 32 count. This is JBW's Antique Christmas Trees:
I also stitched two projects for Hallowe'en; Oberlin Sampler's Witches:
And Imaginating's Happy Hallowe'en:

Finally, we have the Secret Stitching Sweetheart Blog Hop coming on Valentine's Day. If you would like to take part, all you have to do is send me a photo of something you have stitched which is suitable for a stitching friend. It could be a heart, or a pair of cute creatures, or the word "love" or anything which warms your heart. Really anything you think a fellow stitcher would like to receive in her email Inbox. I will then email you a photo to post on your blog on Valentine's Day. Everyone then hops around trying to find out where their photo went and who is the Secret Sweetheart!

You have been busy! I don't much like stitching with metallic but the sparkle finish looks good doesn't it
The 10 stitches piece is looking good Jo, I think 2 strands of metallics would really try my patience! It really does add to the effect though.
That 12 Days border is looking great, especially as we all know how much you love stitching borders. I don't really like stitching with metallic, but I sure do like the look when I'm done. That 10-a-day is growing so well.
Wondeful ORTs and Smalls, Jo, and your Ten a Day piece is really taking shape now.
Look at you!! I love the little over one stitched piece that you did...how adorable is that?? All your stitching is amazing, and you've done a lovely job, but your partridge is my favorite from this post! It's going to be gorgeous when you are done!!
Hi Jo: You have some wonderful projects going.
I do like the effect metallic threads give, but I hate fact I have to fight with it to get ittolayright.
Blessings
Catherine
Lots of pretty orts Jo. Another SAL I have posted in like forever.
Linda
Emptying the big ort jar ... don't think I've ever done that, LOL.
Your 10-a-day continues to grow - how fun! Surprising how that little bit a day adds up. I really like the moon from the Imaginating piece.
You are brave with that metallic thread but sometimes a design just needs it! Yours looks wonderful.
That is a lot of ORTs!
Absolutely beautiful stitching, as usual.
Lovely smalls!! I recently used metallic threads in ladybird fairy and they do add glamour to the piece.
Wow that is a lot of ORTs. I'm a miser with threads so not ven single jar has filled since I started collecting the ORTs..ha ha.
Beautiful stitching and lovely finishes.
Wow, lots of orts and lots of stitching...all amazing xx
What a great idea to save the ORTs for filler! Love all your projects. Good luck with all that metallic. I have a WIP with metallic, but when that is done, I don't think I will ever start another project with metallic.
Great stitching! I love Happy Halloween, the colors are wonderful :D
Lovely work on everything and a great way to power through all those metallics, a little bit every day will be a big help.
Lots of ORT's from last year. The metallic does make it look nice.
The JN is growing well. I've just stitched one, but its for an exchange so cant show it yet lol.
Great smalls for this month, Jo. And your 12 Days are growing nicely. One or two lengths of metallic threads a day are doable without getting desperate, lol. Can you guess that I don't like stitching with metallics? Lol.
Love your 12 days - I really want to do a 12 days project in 2017 but I just can't seem to find one that really grabs me. I will keep looking Love your Partridge ANd of course all your stitching
Nice progress on your smalls, even though some of them aren't that small at all :D I think I finally found something to stitch for the Valentine's blog hop, and it's rather small and quick too...what was the cutoff date again? I seem to remember February 10th, but I can't find the post anymore...
I love the witch and the moon the best... imagine that!
Another great post. Lots of beautiful stitching going on.
Lovely stitching. Your jar will be filling up in no time:)
Even when in a tangled mess sparklies always look amazeballs! I really love the look of Spring in a Square. And of course your Halloweenies are wicked as always.
xo Alicia
Love your selection of stitching but my favourite has to be your Just Nan for '10 a day'
Great finishes!
Impressive stitching...I can't get over the size of the design with coins beside it! It is so tiny!!!
