The idea is to help my overseas friends decide if they want to buy a magazine.  I know many people find it hard to get copies of the British magazines in their country.  I thought by giving you a sneak preview of what is in a mag it will help you know which magazines to keep a look out for.  Also, whether a subscription may be in order!

August 2011 - World of Cross Stitching 181 - Part 1 of a HAED, too much background for me!  I'd stitch it on pink hand-dyed and it'd be quicker and easier.  A Sara Moon girl, some poppies, free Margaret Sherry card (the chart is going in my giveaway) and a jewelled Design Library by Liz Almond (best thing in the mag).

5 August 2011 - Cross Stitch Collection 200 - I bought this for the JE Mermaid.  There's also a lovely Polstitches biscornu and 2 cute baby owls by Lesley Teare.  Part 2 of the Sandy Littlejohn Ascot Races chart.

July 2011 - World of Cross Stitching 180 - To be honest, nothing really grabbed me this month.  Sometimes it's like that.  However next month's looks great!  The Canal alphabet looks nice though, if I knew a bargee!  The Cathy Bussi sampler has some sweet motifs and there is a Polstitches scissor roll too which is nice.  Good instructions on how to make one too.

June 18 2011 - World of Cross Stitching 179 - a lovely band sampler in nice fresh colours and some bright flower cards from Durene Jones.  Gladioli for August and a rather nice dragonfly alphabet.  And a fantasy lady design which is stiff and very poor.  I don't know why the magazine use some of these designs when there are talented designers out there who would love the exposure!  Oh well, we can't all be Joan Elliot, Nora Corbett or Teresa Wentzler can we?

June 9 2011 - Cross Stitch Collection.  The sixth and last of the Joan Elliott Flower Fairies, Lily.  There is a lovely folksy Cathy Bussi design, a Bird House and a sweet Union Jack in pink.  For wildlife fans there's a Pollyanna Pickering otter.
