December IHSW

IHSW or International Hermit and Stitch Weekend always starts on the third Friday of the month.  It's a chance to lock yourself away and focus on your stitching for the weekend.  You can take part on your blog or via the Facebook page.  Links at the bottom of this post.

As I mentioned last month, the challenge this close to Christmas is to get ANY stitching done at all!  I did manage to get a couple of hours on the Discworld Mappe by Lyndisfarne Designs on Sunday and Monday.

I stitched Turtle Flippers, a little bit of stitching to finish the one on the right of the design:

And some more on the one on the left of the design plus the start of the owl.

I am also trying to catch up with the Stitchonomy Snowflake SAL, only 2 more snowflakes to go!

She has also given us an additional chart with some "sparkles" to fill the gaps in.  Some people are using beads, but my whole piece is beads!  So I might use metallic threads instead.

I also stitched my monthly Christmas Ornament which I am saving for the Smalls SAL on Friday.

A few people have said that they don't do Facebook and asked if I could host a link-up for them, so here it is! Just add your name and the link to your actual IHSW post, not just your blog home page.

Finally, the next IHSW will be 17th - 19th January so make sure you note the date in your diary or come and join us in the Facebook Group - IHSW on Facebook. If you don't do Facebook then you can check in here.

  5. I think I never actually signed up for a IHSW in 2019...hopefully, I'll be able to commit for a couple of weekends this year.

Great progress on the Map, I still enjoy seeing these flippers even though they are giving you a hard time! Great work on the snowflakes as well.
