Clare from Aimetu's Stitching contacted me to say that she wasn't able to post today but could I choose a photo from her blog. I chose her gorgeous hardanger themed Christmas tree for the annual Tree Festival at her local church. The link goes to the post where she talks about the festival and her tree in more detail. She also said that most of her favourite films have already been chosen but "watching an Andre Rieu concert especially at Christmas is always festive"
I hope you will enjoy visiting each person and finding out more about them and their favourite films. If you are not taking part this year, please leave a comment with your favourite film and I'll add them to the list!
Finally, people have been asking about MY favourite film - it has to be The Muppets' Christmas Carol. I read the book when I was about 8 years old and loved the story and they do a fabulous version in their own inimitable style!
Hello from Germany and happy Christmastime to all.
ReplyDeleteVery nice idea with the calendar.
Favorite films are Little Lord Fauntleroy(a must) and a German one, called
3 Nüsse für Aschenbrödel
Looking forward to this. Mine's up
ReplyDeleteThis year I treated myself to an advent calendar for the first time in years (the Lego Harry Potter one of course!) and now I have two! I shall enjoy opening each door for the next 24 days.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite Christmas film definitely has to be The Polar Express. Believe. :)
Hello from Slovakia! Beautiful stitching in your 1st window! Little robin is a birdie that I LOVE. Very mysterious for me cause it can be seen here very rarely. My fav Christmas movie is "Three Wishes for Cinderella" - I guess it is the same movie as Gabi mentioned in her comment under German name (because this Czechoslovak film was very popular in Germany for decades too). But I can be wrong :) Have a nice Advent Sunday!
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute idea! Love Christine's Day One finish (and film!).
ReplyDeleteThanks for this Advent Calendar Jo. It is such fun visiting all the different blogs.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes for a happy Christmas at your house.
Oh no! I can't believe I missed the sign up for the Advent hop! I guess I have been very busy! I will just enjoy everyone else's blogs this year! That will be fun too! My favorite Christmas movie is White Christmas. I just love the music, and my dad was in the army so it reminds me to be grateful for his and all our military members' sacrifices.
ReplyDeleteHello from Poland and happy Christmas to you!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea with advent calendar, love it!
I do not watch films at all, so have not favorite :) Prefer to listen audio books while stitching. In my childhood I liked Home Alone :)
I love the Advent Blog Hop! Thanks for organising it, Jo.
ReplyDeleteThanks for organizing this Jo!

Thank you for hosting these fun blog hops, it's so nice to see what other people are stitching and all their Christmas memories. I hope you enjoy these last few weeks before Christmas and especially the big day itself! Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas, Jo and thanks for organising the Advent Calendar and for luring me out of self-imposed hermitting! Wishing you and yours a wonderful Christmas. I'm just wondering, what is your favourite Christmas movie?
