Welcome to the October Gifted Gorgeousness link-up. The link-up date continues to be the 15th and I will keep the link-up open until the end of each month so you have plenty of time if you are late posting.
The format remains exactly the same, there is a list of rules on the main sign-up page if you want to check what is required but basically anything connected to the word "gift" is allowed, whether it was a gift TO you or is a gift FROM you.
My main project for Gifted Gorgeousness this year has been my Discworld Mappe by Lyndisfarne Designs, which was a gift for my son. Now finally finished and framed:
Finally, there will be a Hallowe'en Trick or Treat Blog Hop as usual this year. I am sure you all know how it works but for those who need a reminder - here's a link to last year's

My main project for Gifted Gorgeousness this year has been my Discworld Mappe by Lyndisfarne Designs, which was a gift for my son. Now finally finished and framed:

Most of September was dedicated to my Chatelaine, Gardens of London. Here's where I was at the start of the month:
Here's the whole piece now:
stitched on 32 count Cotton Clouds Belfast from Crafty Kitten
This was a gift for my special Birthday in 2016, a lot of my friends sent skeins of threads which I have labelled with their name so I think of them as I stitch.
Usually I would be showing my 12 Days of Christmas now but I have skipped them this month to focus on Dark October stitching. I will do double next month!
My first Dark October piece was my Birthday present last year; Just Nan's Autumn Mouse Scissor Roll. I had fully finished the little mouse by Day 4 and have spent the rest of the time stitching the Roll itself.
Mouse minus hat, the pin head had to be painted and was still wet.
stitched on 32 count Vintage Country Mocha
Tomorrow is a work day so I won't have much time to stitch. I am planning to add some of the little mice so I can see the progress I make.
Last time I showed a Just Nan design I mentioned how many of the charts I own. Jirrine asked how I knew how many there are but you are a "no-reply" person so I can't respond directly. The answer is that in the Just Nan Facebook group, someone has compiled a list of the designs! They try to keep it up-to-date but Nan keeps releasing new designs or we find another exclusive or magazine chart. So it's only an approximation for the number.
Now it is your turn to show us your Gifted Gorgeousness for the month. Please use your name or your blog name in the field and NOT the words "October Update" so I can easily see who has linked up this month. And link to the actual post, not just your blog. It is easier if you copy and paste the link, rather than typing freehand.

ReplyDeleteThe Mappe looks fantastic - the frame sets it off perfectly. I love the sweet little mouse, and the Chatelaine is amazing. Beautiful stitching, as usual!
ReplyDeleteThree such contrasting pieces, but all showing things you seem to love the most, Discworld, Chatelaine and Just Nan. Good luck with the remainder of Dark October. :)
ReplyDeleteDiscworld Mappe looks brilliant framed. Your son must be so pleased with it.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy seeing your Halloween stitching and your progress on Gardens of London. Sadly, I have no Gifted Gorgeousness I can share this month as the recipients read my blog.
Oh my goodness, what an awesome job you have made of Discworld, Jo!
ReplyDeleteGreat work on all your other stitching too! I love the mouse, it’s so sweet,
I’m glad to see I linked up here OK because I seem to have done something to my blog and my Thumbnail picture has disappeared from everybodies margins ..... aaargh! I hope I can resolve this but at the moment it means no one will see my blogpost! 😤
One more problem with New Blogger!
