It's TUSAL time, the Totally Useless SAL where we all show our ORTS and link-up on Daffycat's blog.
Here is my TUSAL jar with two projects:
Here is my TUSAL jar with two projects:
On the left we have the most recent Just Nan Small finish, Honeysuckle Rose:
stitched on 32 count Antique White linen
I need to add a charm in the centre. I ordered a batch from eBay and will be having a little finishing session this weekend.
The project on the right is the next Just Nan Small to be the focus, Dragonfly Summer:
stitched on 32 count white evenweave
I am undecided whether to buy a large dragonfly to go in the middle or use one of the butterflies I bought this week. Watch this space!
Having finished the SALs part of my rotation, I started on my focus piece for the month; Gardens of London by Chatelaine:
stitched on 32 count Cotton Clouds Linen by Crafty Kitten
I'll be working on the little garden this month and it would be great to finish all the plain cross stitching by the 25th. But I do have some extra work shifts to cover holiday so we shall see.
There is an extra incentive to finish this. A group of Chatelaine stitchers have put together a Gallery of Martina's designs and they don't have Gardens of London yet. So no pressure there! You can find the Gallery here:
Finally, the email comment notification issues are still on-going. Blogger had said they were working on it back on 31st May but have said nothing since then. Blogger is a free platform so there's no sense of urgency for them. The work around of clicking "Notify Me" or "send follow up comments to..." is working insomuch that you get the emails but from a "no-reply" address. So please keep commenting, on my blog and the other blogs you follow. Please spread the word that people need to check their dashboard for comments and how to work-around it.
I certainly value every comment and reply to as many as possible. I also comment on as many blogs as I can. I do not return to other people's blog posts to see if there is a reply. So if that is how you're doing it, please email me the reply or don't be surprised when I don't acknowledge it!
Great to see all these projects. The wreath is so beautiful, you have to love it. And nice progress on the other projects.
ReplyDeleteFor me, nothing works with blogger. I usually tick the little notify me box when I leave a comment on someone's blog and it says that follow-ups will be sent to my email address but they never arrive. Seems that setting a blog to private has lots more consequences than you think, lol. Of course, I continue visiting blogs and leaving my comments. It's fun even when I don't hear back from anyone.
I like Blogspot, but it does have its issues. Nice stitching Jo!
ReplyDeleteHoneysuckle Rose is gorgeous Jo!
ReplyDeleteNice finish on the Honeysuckle Rose, I'm not convinced it actually NEEDS a charm, it looks good with the negative space
ReplyDeleteBeautiful stitching going on. Thanks for sharing updates on the blogger issue. Here's hoping they fix it soon.
ReplyDeleteLovely stitching Jo .
ReplyDeleteI was just going to ask you about the comments .
It seems all over the place I even lost my blog and took me for ever to get it back. I am not that good with PCs so it's been a nightmare.
So happy to be back visiting with you Jo. I sure missed seeing all of your beautiful stitches. I missed all the trouble Blogger is having but I guess I will find out quickly. I see you have been very busy stitching away. Hope you have a lovely weekend. RJ@stitchingfriendsforever
ReplyDeleteLovely stitching. Thank you for updating about the blogger issue. I have always thought that you go out of the way for replying to comments. I really appreciate that but pls don’t feel bad if you can’t reply. My way of thanking ppl for their comments is to regularly comment on their blogs.
ReplyDeleteGreat ORTs, Jo!
ReplyDeleteHoneysuckle is beautiful. I stitched Dragonfly for an exchange, it was hard to give it away.
ReplyDeleteLike you, I don't return to blogs to see if anyone replied.
Lovely progress on your smalls! I'm very excited for the Chatelaine gallery. With all the overdyed threads and specialty stitches, so mockups don't really do them justice more often than they do!
ReplyDeleteI just LOVE Honeysuckle Rose! It is SO pretty!
ReplyDeleteGreat ORTs, Jo and I love Honesuckle Rose - so very sweet.
