Halloween Spooky Link-up 2024

This is the time of year when I'd usually do my Trick or Treat Blog Hop but due to circumstances beyond my control, I just haven't had time to organise it this year.

Instead, we will have a Spooky Link-up party all week!  Just make a post on anything spooky; stitching, decorating, crafting etc and link up below.  Make sure you come back and visit some of the other bloggers too.  We've all noticed visits and comments dropping this year so it would be nice to show some spooky love to our fellow bloggers.

Here's what I have to share with you all.  This year I have been stitching for Dark 13 each month.  I chose the Halloween Sampler from Cottage Garden Samplings and stitched on word per month

At the start of the month I had completed up to I:

And now we have a finish!

Here's the whole piece:

stitched on 40 count Witch's Brew linen from Zweigart

I just need to find a square black frame that is big enough for this design.

I did manage to FFO the three Halloween Trifles from Shepherd's Bush, using a wooden pumpkin board from The Works.  I mixed up some orange acrylic paint with a splash of black and diluted it with water to make a paint wash which turned out really well.  Then I mounted each of the three pieces to card and stuck them to the board with double sided tape.

I didn't have the right charms so I just chose some from my stash

I realised I had used all my spider charms so used this bigger web instead:

Very pleased with the final result:

Here are some more photos of my Spooky Stitching on display this year:

Finally, enjoy the Spooky Link-ups!

Yes indeed numbers are down and comments are even more illusive. Always nice to see your full Halloween display.

Such fun spooky stitching. You have soooooo many pieces. Don't believe I've done a Halloween x-stitch. If I have, it was so long ago I don't remember. I am currently wearing a Halloween themed scarf, does that count for anything, lol. I never got around to getting out my Halloween placemats and napkins for the table. Seems silly to do now for one day. Kept forgetting. Making myself a reminder not to put out the Thanksgiving ones or Fall ones in the next day or two at least.

The Halloween Sampler is a terrific finish as are your three smalls Jo. You have an impressive Halloween display. It makes my few pieces look paltry :)

Yay, you finished it! It looks fangtastic!🧛
The fabric you used for the trio looks great, and so nice together on the pumpkin.
Of course you know I love ALL your Halloween stitching, it's spooktacular!🧡💜
Thank you for adding a link up, I'm sure it made it much easier this year.

Great idea that Halloween alphabet pattern on such a nice fabric! Thanks for sharing your home displays with us, it's like opening your door during this creepy evening. xxx

You have the best Halloween collection of stitching! While decorating has become more popular in recent years, Japan doesn’t understand Halloween.

Thank you for doing a link up page, blog World is certainly a quieter place but I still like to post as it's a lovely record of my crafting. Your projects are lovely, I really like your charms and wooden pumpkin.

Aaaah I forgot to link up! What with a cold, work, and trick-or-treating (not to mention some last-minute help for my cosplay-loving son) I missed it.
Such great finishes, Jo! And I especially love the Shepherd's Bush Trifles.
Happy belatged Halloween! Happy All Souls Day/Día de Muertos!
