Gifted Gorgeousness June Link-up Post

Welcome to the June Gifted Gorgeousness link-up. The link-up date continues to be the 15th and I will keep the link-up open until the end of each month so you have plenty of time if you are late posting.

The format remains exactly the same, there is a list of rules on the main sign-up page if you want to check what is required but basically anything connected to the word "gift" is allowed, whether it was a gift TO you or is a gift FROM you.

Once again, neither of my monthly focus pieces have a gifted element to them so I'll stick with my two staples for the SAL this year!

This one was a gift from the designer and the fabric was a gift too.

Steady Thread - Tree of Life Temperature SAL

Mostly yellows and limes for the last couple of weeks.

I'm adding quite a bit to the ground and the border too.

I record the temperature each day and then stitch the leaves on the Sunday morning.

My Dark 13 design is stitched on gifted fabric, a beautiful 40 count linen called Witch's Brew from Zweigart.  My plan is to stitch one letter per month until we reach October and then complete it during Dark October.

Now it is your turn to show us your Gifted Gorgeousness for the month.  Please use your name or your blog name in the field and NOT the words "June Update" so I can easily see who has linked up this month.  And link to the actual post, not just your blog.  It is easier if you copy and paste the link, rather than typing freehand.

Finally, I have been unable to allocate an entire day to my Longest Day Marathon this week so I am going to attempt to stitch two pieces per day for the week and see how that works instead.  Disappointing but that's life sometimes!

Finally Fully Finishing Fun for June

Hosted by Rachel the Ten Hour Stitcher

This SAL is designed to motivate us all to do something with that box of Finished pieces instead of just storing them under the bed.  We will all be linking up on Rachel's blog on or after the 10th of each month (10 Hour Stitcher - 10th of the month).

I decided to scrapbook something this month as I hadn't had a chance to buy any frames.  Wilkos in town closed down so it involves a car trip to the out-of-town retail park now.

However, we recently bought a new bed with underbed storage which I filled with a lot of the boxes in the bedroom including the one with my scrapbooks in as it was such a large box.  So the first job was to empty under the bed, remove the box and repack it all!

For one tiny finish!

Stitched for my Just Nanathon and finished in May 2024

Here's the whole page:

Bottom Right - Just Nan Dewdrop Bunny

Finally, life is looking a little challenging to find an entire day free for my Longest Day SAL so it might have to be spread over two days.  Stay tuned for more news on that!

June TUSAL

It's TUSAL time!

Here is my TUSAL jar with my current projects:

On the left is Stitchy Princess' Alice in Wonderland:

And on the right is my evening project; Living on the Rainbow's 3D Haunted House:

stitched on 32 count purple linen

This is the front of the house and is almost finished, just a little backstitch to go.

Finally, it's a Focus Weekend in the WIP Warriors group so I'm hoping to get some good progress on Alice.  It's such a fun project with only a few colours and they really pop against the fabric colour.

June Plans

At the start of the year I made a list of 24 projects I want to stitch this year for my "24 in '24".  The order I stitch them in is going to be determined by the WIPGO Board.  Jessie-Marie calls two numbers each month and those will be the two projects I stitch that month.  One small and one medium.

In May, the numbers were 5, 13 and 19.  These related to Drawn Thread Spot of Autumn, my Longest Day Marathon and Nora Corbett's Claire.

Claire was a finish but Spot of Autumn had to give way to my Just Nanathon.

In June, the numbers are 2 and 25.  These relate to Stitchy Princess Alice in Wonderland and Living on the Rainbow's Haunted House.

This is my daytime project and I've made a great start so far:

stitched on 32 count Millenium Blue linen

I'm using the charted DMC colours but have changed the pale blue to a darker one as the fabric makes it blend in to the white too much.  The fabric is a much richer blue than showing in the photo.  Check out this finished piece for better colour representation - Noel Blanc

This cute little 3D design is my evening project.  I have nearly completed the front of the house:

Again I am using the charted DMC but 32 count fabric rather than 18 count aida so mine will be a little bit bigger than the model.

Finally, what about 13?  Well, that's the centre square and I use that for my Longest Day Marathon.  The official Longest Day (Northern Hemisphere) is Thursday 20th June this year but I am busy that day so I will be attempting my Marathon the day before - Wednesday 19th June.  If anyone wants to join in at any time between the 17th and 23rd June - feel free!  All you have to do is attempt to stitch on as many of your WIPs as possible.
