Hosted by Rachel the Ten Hour Stitcher
This SAL is designed to motivate us all to do something with that box of Finished pieces instead of just storing them under the bed. We will all be linking up on Rachel's blog on or after the 10th of each month (10 Hour Stitcher - 10th of the month).
I got one fully finished object this month, a little ornament from December 2017!
Just Nan - Holiday in Ice
Stitched on 32 count Ocean's Kiss Permin Linen
I whip stitched round the edges and added beads and pre-made tassel to the bottom of the design.
Ready for this Christmas now!
I also has one finish right at the start of the month. The third in Amanda Butler's Houses series in Cross Stitcher magazine. This one is London Houses:
stitched on 28 count grey evenweave
The backstitch really does make these designs. My original plan was to finish all thirteen as one very long concertina row but now I am wondering if shorter rows would work. Because then I could FFO the first four at the end of this month rather than save them all until the end of the year!
Finally, here's my new start to replace the finished House. This one is Belfast House, another row of tall terraced houses.
stitched on 28 count grey evenweave
The back stitching adds so much doesn’t it? Although it can be tedious to do.
ReplyDeleteYour finishing of the Just Nan piece is perfect! Love the House you finished, it's intriguing!

Such a pretty, sparkly ornament finish, Jo! Especially love the beaded edge--those take me quite a while to do :) Hope your March is going well ♥
ReplyDeleteLove your finished ornament. It is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThe house serie with so many backstitching, such patience you have.. turned out great though.
