This SAL is all about what you want to see on the blog. Each month I ask for suggestions for themes and then put them up to the members of the IHSW Group on FB to vote for their choice. This is what they have chosen:
December - Fancy Finishes
January - Designer for 2022
(a designer you are keen to stitch in the coming year)
February - Snow
What's your definition of a "Fancy Finish"? Anything which isn't a basic frame, pillow or scrapbook page would count for me. I'm not big on finishing but have got better over the years. Practise does help!
This is probably one of my complex constructions:
Drac-in-a-Box from Acorn House Designs
The box itself wasn't difficult to put together but the little figure was interesting! You can see more photos here - Come Happy Dance With Me
Sugar Almond Cottage from Nutmeg Company
Christmas Angel from Joan Elliott
The final finish I wanted to show is my Plum Street 12 Days of Christmas Box but I can't find where I stored the video to add it here, so I'll link to my Happy Dance blog which has it there - Come Happy Dance With Me
Now it's over to you. All you have to do is make a post on the theme of Fancy Finishes, mention The People's Choice SAL (you can copy the picture I used at the top of this post and in my side bar) and my blog. Please link up using the URL of the actual blog post, not the home page of your blog. I look forward to seeing what you all post.

Finally, I need your suggestions for the next poll. Anything, no matter how obscure, weird or random will go into the poll. Keep the theme suggestions to a single word or two - so you could have Cats, or Green, or Holidays, or Warmth etc. Really anything which could be illustrated in cross stitch.

Jo: your finish's are wonderful, I am so in love with the Christmas Angel finish, what an amazing idea.
Merry Christmas

Christmas Angel is probably the most unusual finish I've seen, and an excellent way of not stitching a good portion of the chart!
Your box and house are cute too - if Dracula can be cute! Definitely 'fancy finishes' if they are intricate and involve curved needles. :)
Beware of Dracula, he could be angry to be kept in a box even if it's a perfect finish! Houses are lovely and the angel display is amazing.
That multiple frame piece is fantastic. What a clever idea. It is really striking. I also love the little house. And Drac in A Box is very cute too! That looks like it was rather tricky! You know I have some fancy finishes so I should make a post for this one! (I had nothing funny last month!)
Wow so beautiful!!! Thanks for sharing. I'll see if I can join back in next year.
Oh, these are such fabulous finishes. Your Dracula one is especially fun, Jo! Way to complex for me, I'm sure, but yours turned out great!
You got some very cool fancy finishes - I love all those 3D things!
You have some amazing different finishes. I absolutely love what you did with the Christmas Angel. So beautiful.
I couldn't figure out why I couldn't find your blog and had to keep referring to comment in one of my posts. It seems like I was not following you! What??? How did that happen?? I thought for sure I had clicked that button a long time ago. Well, I have clicked it now and hopefully I will now get notifications when you create a post. I am having fun looking back at all of your older posts. Your stitched pieces area amazing.
