IHSW or International Hermit and Stitch Weekend always starts on the third Friday of the month. It's a chance to lock yourself away and focus on your stitching for the weekend. You can take part on your blog or via the Facebook page - IHSW on Facebook.
I have to be honest it was a fairly unproductive weekend on the stitching front. Inbetween taking my son for long walks to burn off some energy, sitting with to keep him calm and trying to wrap presents, I didn't get much stitching done at all! Suffice to say, bath-time was probably the most productive time of the day.
I am working my way through the white Perle on my NOEL letters. To add to the issues I had already discovered last post, I realised that I had not followed the charted weaving for the letter L and had used some other hardanger pattern! I had also used 2 strands of DMC Blanc and not the #12 Perle. So that's coming out to be redone. It just looked scruffy, plus I had carried threads on the back.
Here are all four at the current time:
I won't finish these before Christmas this year, but that's OK. I will add them into my rotation next year and get them done for 2021. They've only been a WIP for 21 years, another one won't hurt!
I promised some photos of my ornament garland:
Finally, the next IHSW will be 15th - 17th January so make sure you note the date in your diary or come and join us in the Facebook Group - IHSW on Facebook. If you don't do Facebook then you can check in here by leaving a comment on my post.

Pre-Christmas is a difficult time to huddle down with your stitching and hermit! Sorry these letters are giving you so many issues, but I'm sure you'll get everything worked out with time.
ReplyDeleteFor all the problems it sure is beautiful. Love your ornament garland. Perfect way to display them. Great new ornament as well. How sweet.
ReplyDeleteOh no, not more issues, but I like your attitude towards NOEL being a WIP for another year! Definitely look forward to seeing it finished in 2021.
