WIPocalypse is hosted by Measi's Musings
Each month we have to share the projects we want to complete before the End Of The World. For me, this will be my "18 in '18". Many of them are part of SALs so I will be working on them each month.
This month I worked on 4 of my 18 projects:
1. Donna Kooler - Zodiac - Finish!
2. Jardin Prive - Happy Hallowe'en Night:
large framed pieces in the wardrobe
1. Donna Kooler - Zodiac - Finish!
stitched on 32 count Millenium Blue linen
2. Jardin Prive - Happy Hallowe'en Night:
stitched on 32 count Cognac Linen
3. Just Nan - 12 Days of Christmas:
stitched on 32 count Vintage Grain linen
4. Mrs Peggotty - Alice & The Flamingo:
stitched over 1 on 25 count blue evenweave
Measi always sets us a discussion topic each month:
September – How do you keep your stitching stash organized?
Organised chaos would be more like it! The problem is that I don't have a room of my own to store everything in one place. Instead I have a cupboard in the Utility Room, some units in the corner of the bedroom, a box next to my stitching table in the kitchen and a large chest in the Living Room.
So basically:
Utility Room - fabric, charts, finished smaller pieces
Bedroom - WIPs not currently in the rotation, finishing materials, scrapbooking supplies
large framed pieces in the wardrobe
Living Room - charts, kits, beads, speciality threads, older items in my stash, magazines stored in boxes.
Kitchen - DMC, current projects in my rotation, book collection.
This bag holds the entire range of DMC in Floss-away bags
Finally, it's nearly time for the spookiest Hop on the Blog - the annual Hallowe'en Trick or Treat Blog Hop. For this one, you send me an email saying you would like to take part. A few days before the end of October I will send you an email with a letter of the alphabet. On the 31st you must make a blog post featuring something spooky you have stitched (or crafted) and your letter.
I will list all the participants on my blog and we all hop around collecting the letters to form the spooky phrase - report back to my blog and leave a comment to win a prize!
like all your stitching. spooky stitching sounds like allot of fun. Jasmine_Ms.Button@hotmail.com count me in hugs.
ReplyDeleteGreat! I had been waiting for this blog hop a whole year!AriadnefromGreece!
ReplyDeleteAlice has really grown, she's looking wonderful.
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute finish--love it on the dark fabric, Jo! I am another who has her stitching stash spread out among many rooms! It is all hidden away (well, mostly :), but I do have it pretty well organized...
ReplyDeleteAwesome progress as always Jo. Your stash may be in several places but at least its organized.

Your zodiac finish is beautiful!! Plus Halloween night is looking great! You can count me in on the Halloween blog hop this year!
ReplyDeleteWhat great stitching you are working on Jo. Each one looks fantastic. I love the 12 days...beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteI don't have a specific room either and it makes it so hard to stay organized. We are at the beach this week but I promised myself when I get back I'm getting organized...we shall see. Your next hop sounds like fun~ Have a great week. RJ@stitchingfriendsforever
What great stitching Jo ,love all that you are working on.
ReplyDeleteMy stock is everywhere growing all the time , my craft room is full now it's creeping inside ,but it's fun.
Have a good week.
Another post? I've been away from blogger for maybe 4 or 5 days and I think you've posted on every single one of them!
ReplyDeleteTrust me, having a dedicated room doesn't help, my study and sewing corner both look like that.
Count me in for the blog hop please
Fantastic finish! The zodiac motifs really stand out well on that fabric. Your other projects are coming along nicely as well. I definitely do want to join in on the Hallowe'en Trick or Treat Blog Hop ... so I will go shoot you an email. Have a happy Oct 1!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely organized chaos. Do you have a digital file to keep track of what you have and where it is?
ReplyDeleteAll great progress and a wonderful finish!
ReplyDeleteAs long as YOU know where everything is, all is good. And wow, that's a lot of floss!
Yes for the Halloween Hop, one of my favourites!
Congrats on the lovely finish! Great progress on your WIPs. My stash is moderately organized. I have more of yarn stash which requires lot of space.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful progress on your projects. Love your stash. Here and there. I agree with Astrid as long as you know where it is all that matters.
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh at your cross-stitching supplies and projects being scattered all over the house! So that just leaves the bathroom then?!
ReplyDeleteI have commandeered an area of our snug for my regularly-used things, with everything else being securely boxed and easily reachable in one of the eaves. If only I didn't have to accommodate my hubby's hobby's I'd have so much more room! :)
Pretty stitching Jo, I like the Zodiac colours on the blue fabric and Alice is looking good.
ReplyDeleteI love the way we stitchers find all the nooks and crannies to hold our stash!
ReplyDeleteGreat pieces! Your finished SAL looks amazing. And your stash makes me feel so much better about mine crammed in everywhere x
ReplyDeleteo ho ho, I can boast of an actual craft room now! And it's stuffed with everything hah. Organized though...? Let's just go with your organized chaos. :D Does your bedroom have a ceiling you bonk your head on if not careful?
ReplyDeleteNice to see your 4 wipocalypse's works. Zodiac has given us great updates during your SAL. Lovely framed finish. I'll join the blog hop of course (will send an email to confirm ;) but if you see a plane with a banner "I'M IN" in the Suffolk sky it would be me! xxx
ReplyDeleteIt's always great to see your projects near a finish towards the end of the year. The zodiac one looks great!
