July Pie and Stitch from Stash

It was a very strange month for stitching with a lot of extra work shifts taking their toll.  Even though the children have now broken up for the school holidays I am spending time on catching up with the things I didn't do when I was at work!

Anyway, the focus piece for the month was The Discworld Mappe by Lyndisfarne Designs.  I wanted to complete the Heraldic Hippo this month.  Here is where I started:

And here is where I finished on 25th July:

stitched on 32 count Murano custom-dyed by Sparklies

I think we will count that as a successful month.

The early part of the month I focused on my SALs (Zodiac, Happy Hallowe'en and 12 Days of Christmas) and then I worked on the Mappe as often as I could.  On the days when I had to work, I took my Just Nan Smalls in with me and completed Floral Sunshine.  Some other days I only worked on my bath-time project; Alice and the Flamingo by Mrs Peggotty.  So both those designers have a bigger slice of pie that usual.

Floral Sunshine stitched on 32 count Antique White linen

So here is that pie:

The second part of Stitch from Stash has started and I am continuing with my £20 a month budget for that.  I'm not counting credit for finishing unless someone is going to actually pay me in real money for finishes LOL.

July
JN Chart £4.99
Beads £2.73
Linen pack of 3 £15.00
Cross Stitcher sub £8.72
Total £31.44

So I'm way over this month already.  I can take out the magazine subscription though because they don't count.  The Just Nan chart was an eBay special, Catnip Tea.  Just Nan is slowly letting all the sampler charts go OOP so I grab them when I see them.  The linen was a bargain from SewandSo, three large cuts for £5 each instead of £11.25.  The beads I need for my JN Smalls.

Finally, I know you all enjoyed the last little video clip I added to the Longest Day Marathon so I did another one.  This is a little tour of the corner of our Living Room where some of my stitching stuff lives.  If it doesn't play first time try refreshing and reloading the page.

That is not a Just Nan Angel - that is a Lavender & Lace freebie Angel!

I love the JN finish. Such a shame about the samplers going out of print - of all her designs they are by far my favourites

It's always fun to see your pie! Being a one at a time stitcher (pretty much) your variety always amazes me.

Another great month! Loved the tour of your living room and your JN displays. When I was younger we used to have wall units like that - I remember they were called 'gay boxes'. Hmm, how times have changed! :)

So nice to see where some of your stitching stuff and some of the stitched pieces live :)
Great stitching on the Mappe with a sweet little hippo as a result.
Who can say no to a linen pack of three pieces at such a great price.

I am loving the Discworld Mappe, very interesting and lovely colors.

Lovely to hear your voice, Jo, and see the tour. The video worked first time for me this time, but then the comment wouldn’t work, so I had to go away and come back later!
I do love your pies, such fun!
Wow, what a bargain pack of linen!
Great work on Mappe!

HH looks great, he's adorable! Your Floral Sunshine is nice and bright, beautiful colours.
Nice pie, "blueberry" was pretty popular! All necessities for stitching, maybe you can go on a diet next month?
I enjoyed your video, such wonderful treasures! I'm looking forward to seeing the rest.

Great success stunner!!!! I believe this one and your 12 days are my top favs of your current wips. I love it so much. It's really weird Jo that yesterday when I was reading your other 2 blogs, I did wonder what you did with all your finishes big and small and then I saw your vid. I think you must have channeled your thoughts to me. I love how this turned out. Such a beautiful corner of your world.

I love how Discworld is illuminated on the disc!

The video worked fine for me, at least once I twiddled with my browser settings. It must be great to have so many finishes on display! I'm jealous of the fireplace; is it functional when it's not a million degrees outside?
