The problem was being tired on Sunday after 3 early morning starts courtesy of the Small Boy and needing a nap in the afternoon. Followed by 3 days of work getting some overtime in covering my colleagues' holidays.
Some days I barely managed 20 stitches on this design so I'm not counting them in my Pie Chart at the end of the month.
Here is the whole piece so far:
stitched on 32 count Vintage Grain linen
This one is the next one of my Just Nan smalls - Floral Sunshine:
stitched on 32 count Antique White linen
I started that one for March Madness in 2017 and restarted it on 25th June, 2018
I have been making steady progress in the evenings on Alice and Flamingo by Mrs Peggotty:
stitched over 1 on 25 count blue evenweave
I have nearly finished her face, her eyes look so much less creepy now!
Finally, there will be a Summer Blog Hop this year. I will be returning to the Postcard theme.
Each person emails me a photo of something they have stitched which is suitable as a postcard to a fellow stitcher along with a short message of the kind you write on a postcard. I will forward the photo to another participant who shows it on their blog. The photo can be anything Summer themed, beach themed, holiday themed, you get the idea! It can be a new piece or something from your archives. The Hop will run over the whole of the Summer with a few cards going out each week. Final deadline will be the end of August, just in time for Back to School! If you'd like to take part then leave a comment or send me an email.
I have received some cards already but haven't responded to those people yet because of the reasons at the beginning of the post! But I will. This weekend is for emails.
Alice is looking great, Jo--yes, much less creepy :) And even a few stitches in a project is progress. Well done!! Hope July is off to a great start for you :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the swan and the beautiful Alice, Jo. Hugs, my friend.
ReplyDeleteYour 12 Days is so pretty. Sometimes life gets in the way of our stitching!
ReplyDeleteWith us, the summer months are always very exhausting, as colleagues are on vacation, then there is much to do. But at the weekend I have time.
ReplyDeleteGreat progress in your work.
greetings, Martina
Wonderful stitching. I like Alice.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend, Manuela
Oh how I love Alice ,she is so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLove the 12 Days too.
Lovely and rich in colour.
Some progress is better than none Jo. Fantastic progress on Alice. I think you should take a break from Alice until I catch up. Her face looks great.

Despite your busy schedule you managed to get stitching in and I just love the 12 days, the colors are stunning!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful stitching Jo, make sure you enjoy the sunshine, emails can wait!
ReplyDeleteAlice is looking great with her eyes in! Even a bit of stitching when busy is great. I hope Small Boy lets you have a bit more morning sleep soon x
ReplyDeleteSome days just won't let you stitch! Good job on still finishing the 7th day, and great progress on the others. Alice looks great!
ReplyDeleteAll of your pieces look great, but I adore that 12 days piece!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful stitching. Sorry you have been so busy. The great thing about stitching is that it can wait till you are available again.
ReplyDeleteo yes, much less creepy with her whole face in now haha! I'm still waffling over the Summer Hop. I don't have many summer pieces, shoehorn or not! Is the deadline to join in at the end August? Or be in well before that as that's when the hop ends?
ReplyDeleteAlice has seen a lot of attention, she is looking so cute now that her face is stitched.
ReplyDeleteSometimes times are a bit busy and we don't get a lot of stitching done. But some stitches here and there can also make us happy.
Ohmigoodness, Alice has a head! She's looking fantastic. And I love the 12 days swan block.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing the 12 days come together, it looks great!
ReplyDeleteAlice looks good all made up!
