April's WIPocalypse UFOs

WIPocalypse
WIPocalypse is hosted by Measi's Musings
Also linking up with 17 in '17

Each month we have to share the projects we want to complete before the End Of The World.  I have chosen my "17 in '17" which are the 17 projects I want to focus on this year.  You can see the full list on this page here.

Record breaking month for April - EIGHT different WIPocalypse projects got stitched this month.

1. Drawn Thread - A Spot of Spring - Finished

2. Jannlynn Designs - Gathering Honey - my focus piece for this month

3. Lavender & Lace - Enchanted Alphabet - Letter K stitched for Now I Know my ABCs SAL

4. Imaginating - Happy Hallowe'en - for the Hallowe'en Ornie SAL

5. Obelin Samplers - Witches - for the Hallowe'en Ornie SAL

6. Joan Elliott - 12 Days of Christmas - for the Christmas Ornie SAL

7. Just Nan - Spring in the Square - for the Ten-a-Day SAL

The 8th piece fits in very nicely with Measi's theme this month which is

April - What projects are in your UFO pile?

This one!  It's an actual UFO stitched from Brooke's Books' Stitcher's Alphabet

I talked about my definition of a UFO on my Alphabet Club post at the beginning of April.  Last June I did a stitching marathon on the Longest Day and stitched for 20-30 minutes on every single project I have started.  So they've all has some attention in the last 12 months.  At the end of that day I made a collage of my UFOs:

Top row

My Lovely Sewing Tools by Maria Suarez - candidate for rotation in 2018
Coffee Fairy by Yiotas - candidate for rotation after 2018
Art Nouveau Head by The Craft Collection - candidate for rotation after 2018
Bandes des Dragons by Dessins DHC - I will finish the top border, cut it out and call it done!
Autumn Tree from Yahoo Group - candidate for rotation in 2018

Bottom Row

Spring Challenge by Samplemakers - candidate for rotation after 2018
English Transitional Sampler by Scarlet Letter - candidate for rotation after 2018
Noel by Ernie Bishop - candidate for rotation in 2018
Faces SAL by Joan Elliotts - candidate for rotation in 2018
Around the World in 80 Stitches by Papillon - candidate for rotation after 2018

There are some real BAPs in that collection so it will be many years before I finish them all!  I will be doing the Longest Day Marathon again this year, if anyone wants to join me.

Here's the monthly pie with Gathering Honey taking most of the month.  The BB Alphabet took a lot of time because U was full coverage and I did V in April too but can't show you until Saturday!

Finally, Stitch from Stash.  What a month!

April
Stitch book £0.79

That's cheaper than a skein of DMC at the local craft shop.  It hasn't arrived yet but I will show you when it does.  I have a weakness for stitching books and have been thinking of adding a page with them all on.  Would anyone be interested in that?  Front cover, ISBNs and a photo of my favourite project from the inside.

  2. First, I like the idea of a stitching book page - always on the lookout for something new or interesting in that area.

So much stitching this month on so many different things - wow! Loved the peek at your longest day collage, too. Am curious about your notes, though and wonder if you might change your mind about which items get regular attention next year and which have to wait (just being devil's advocate!).

  3. Jo, I love your updates for WIPocaplypse. Since I just found it, I'm not sure I'll make it to join in this month, but this seems like the perfect activity to join in for now. Good luck with your projects. I'll look forward to more updates in the future.

  16. WOW!! You have had flying fingers! All of your projects look lovely, and you've done so much on each one! I didn't realize we were supposed to show what we've been doing for our Wipocalypse pieces at the end of the month, I'll try to do that next month. 17. Eight projects, and so much progress! Great job. I'm looking forward to seeing all you 'UFOs' resurface in coming years! And a stitching book for that price - I wouldn't have been able to resist either.
