Here are some of the things I've worked on this week since my last post.
I completed nearly all the backstitch in the top right corner of Gathering Honey by Jannlynn Designs:
I just spotted one lonely yellow flower at the bottom! There's also some yellow accents to add.
I completed the 1862 Snowflake by Forget-Me-Not in Stitches from JCS 2010:
I used silver thread instead of beads and removed the petite white beads I had started to add last tine. You can see the shape of the snowflake much better without them.
stitched on 28 count Millenium Blue evenweave
Nice progress on Ghostly Mandala by Ink Circles, I have nearly reached the bottom left corner now:
stitched on 32 count Autumnal Woodland by Crafty Kitten
I added another letter to The Enchanted Alphabet, this is based on the design by Lavender & Lace but I am stitching the letters in black and adding little spooky touches from various Just Nan designs:
Stitched on 32 count Tiger Lily Murano from Sparklies
My aim has been to finish a cube per week and I've done three so far:
Hallowe'en Cubes by The Primitive Hare
I am using the same fabric but in three different colourways. Hopefully I can finish them by Hallowe'en and then start on the Christmas ones!
That fabric and the wadding was the bulk of my expenditure this month:
Backing Fabric | £24.95 |
Charms | £11.83 |
3 Victoria Sampler Charts | £ 7.50 |
Kreinik (Skulls) | £ 6.50 |
Perforated Paper (Skulls) | £ 7.44 |
I also bought a chart which will be the prize in the Tenuous Shoehorn Summer Linky Party. Remember that? I still have to pick a winner, I'll let you know when I do!
And now for Pie:
Gathering Honey was my focus piece for August and I managed to stitch on it for nearly a fortnight! The Olympic Challenge meant a lot of pieces got a day or two and also that I stitched on more than one piece in several days. So there are more than 31 days there!
September could see me reduce to six/seven projects throughout the month, depending on how the Sugar Skulls go.
Finally, the Daily Art Challenge:
Day 26 - Eyes
Day 27 - Sport
Day 28 - Doodles
(I drew or doodled this on graph paper!)
Day 29 - Monsters
Day 30 - Fun
(Round Robins are the ultimate fun project!)
Day 31 - Time

You have gotten a lot done on many projects. I am impressed. They are all so pretty too. Your snowflake really sparkles.
Well done on completing the art challenge. Nice finishing on the cubes and I am glad you just put in the centre beads of the snowflake.
What a great post! That border on Gathering Honey is just amazing; those cubes are darling. So many pretty things to drool over! Thanks for sharing them.
Nice round up post. Amazed by the tiny details in Gathering honey. The Halloween cubes look wonderful.
My favourite from the Daily Art challenge is Egyptian sport . I love everything Egyptian..don't know why. That's a great doodle attempt and love the bunny scrapbook piece.
Great work Jo and a lot of stitching despite a busy month! Love the cube finishes, they are going to make an amazing display when they are all done!

Wow you worked on a lot this month. I'm loving your lavender and lace alphabet with the halloween its and bits added, can't wait to see the rest and the mandala is amazing and so close to finish it seems. And great work on the backstitching
A very productive August!
Love the Halloween stitching best, as always :)
So many beautiful projects! Can't wait to see more of the Halloween cubes, they are wonderful!
Wow! Fabric is expensive in the UK. Was that the cost for the 3 cubes or for all of them. The cubes will look really great once they're all done.
Wonderful projects this week Jo. It's hard to pick a favorite. Love them all.

LOve all the stitching you got done. Don't forget me for the Birthday Hop!
I just love those Halloween blocks. I'm sure you can finish them by Halloween. Ghostly Mandala also is coming along so well.I bet that will also be finished in time for Halloween!
Great looking pie, my dear. Wonderful progress on all of your projects.
Your pie really looks very impressive - so many projects worked on during August.
Gathering Honey has seen a lot of progress. And that little snowflake is just darling. I love Autumnal Woodland and Tiger Lily, these are such great fabrics for the projects you stitch on them.
Your daily art challenge with wonderful projects again. I think it's the last installment. Ot does it continue in September? Round Robins can actually be a lot of fun. I participated in many of them but let go of them after some not of funny incidents.
I think I've guessed your secret...are you actually 3 people?! That's the only way you could stitch so much!
Ghostly Mandala looks amazing. I've enjoyed seeing some of your older finishes too.
Colourful pie! I like the way the snowflake came out with the extra beads removed
Am spending a bit of time today trying to catch up on Blogs so this comment is about previous post - YOUR OLD JOB SOUNDS AMAZING. And I understand about the brain power. I love your idea for Enchanted Alphabet and I know I will enjoy watching this grow.
It seems a lot of ghosts have visited you this week, hope stairs and corridors were not too crowded at home. Very interested in this art challenge. Like Justine I think you've got extra pairs of arms. Great job!
Great post! Your daily pics for the art challenge are brilliant... great finish!
Love your enchanted Alphabet :o)
Hugs xx
Lovely progress! Gathering Honey is really going along very nicely, and you did a great job with finishing those Halloween Cubes! I need to get some finishing done eventually as well, but stitching is so much more fun...
Love your cubes! They are perfect. My favorite type of finish since there is no sewing required haha. Love all your other pieces too. Great job on all of them!!
The back-stitching on Gathering Honey is amazing. It really makes it come to life. How much do I love the Halloween cubes??? Well I'll tell you. I love love love them. You're the greatest finisher ever!
