The Smalls SAL is hosted by Heather from Stitching Lotus
This year I am going to have two monthly challenges:

2. The Hallowe'en Ornie SAL themed blog.
and a third one added from August:
3. The Christmas Ornie SAL themed blog
You may have seen my previous post where I showed the completed Hallowe'en Cubes? Here is a close-up of the final letter E:

You may have seen my previous post where I showed the completed Hallowe'en Cubes? Here is a close-up of the final letter E:
stitched on 32 count Vintage Grain linen
I stitched them out of order because I needed the N for a theme on the Hallowe'en Ornie SAL Blog. Now all I have to do is make up nine cubes.
Here is the design I stitched for the theme of Ghosts for the Ornie SAL:
Just Nan Ghoulies and Ghosties
stitched on 28 count tan evenweave
I didn't make a Christmas Angel for the Christmas Ornie SAL but I did show a montage of some of my previous angel designs. You can see them here.
I have been stitching Christmas smalls though, the Plum Street Sampler 12 Days SAL. Here are my first two and half days!
Apologies for the poor photos, the light isn't good for the fabric. I've chosen to stitch them over one on a 25 count linen. It's a very loose weave as you can see. For the red I'm using a Splendor silk and then a different accent colour for each design. First Day is DMC 3045 Pear, Second Day is a blue Splendor silk and Third Day is going to be brown. Probably DMC 434, we'll see how it looks.
If I can manage to stitch Fourth Day before Sunday I will be all caught up and can do one per week for a Christmas finish. We shall see.
Finally, the next post will be the Hallowe'en Trick or Treat Blog Hop on the 31st. Picture Posters, watch out for your email coming very soon. Blog Hoppers, watch out for the Hop!
Gorgeous stitching! I love how you said "all I have to do now is make up 9 cubes". That would put me in a spin!
ReplyDeleteI really like your adaptation of the Plum Street twelve days.
Wow! You are sailing along on the 12 Days. I love to stitch over one on 25ct. I am doing so right now actually. However, why is that 25ct so often is loosely woven?
ReplyDeleteLove all your beautiful stitching!
ReplyDeleteYou go girl! I'm impressed you are going to try the Sunday SAL. I'd love to do it but know myself well enough to know I probably won't happen. LOL! Keep those needles smokin'!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to get sucked into that 12 Days thing, aren't I? Yours looks lovely!
ReplyDeleteThey look lovely! I love the one accent color per pattern idea. When I get around to doing these I'm thinking of using variegated threads since I need an excuse to use them and buy them ;)
ReplyDeleteLovely and very neat stitching as always. Just Nan piece looks so vibrant, love it.
ReplyDeleteReally lovely Jo!! The Halloweenie stitches are most definitely my faves :)
ReplyDeleteLovely stitching, Jo and I love the colour changes on Paulette's 12 Days, I am still on Day 1, so now you have given me ideas! hugs, Kaye
ReplyDeleteBeautiful stitching! I am not trying to talk myself out of buying the the Plumstreet samplers, as if i don't have enough to stitch! :)
ReplyDeleteOoh great progress on plum street. I haven't started them yet. I may make it my next start as I finished something today. I love your colour changes.
ReplyDeleteOh I do like those 12 days designs, how are you going to finish them?
ReplyDeleteLovely stitching!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful stitching! Love how the 12 Days of Christmas are turning out :D
ReplyDeleteWow! You have been busy.... love your 12 Days idea of using a different accent colour for each one. You will have them all finished by Christmas at the rate you're going :o)
ReplyDeleteHugs xx
beautiful stitching, love the 12 Days of Christmas
ReplyDeleteLove all your smalls, especially 12 Days. What a good idea to have a colour scheme throughout but add a little contrast to each design. Fab! :)
ReplyDeleteI love your smalls :) I'm working on so many big projects at the moment, I can't wait when my deadlines are done and I can do a few quick stitches!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your finishes, the JN is very cute
ReplyDeleteAll your smalls stitching looks great. And you are making your way through the 12 days very fast. I haven't started yet and won't this year, but it will be a wonderful prioject for next year.
ReplyDeleteThe 12 Days look great, I've got 2 done so far.
