Day 6 - Joan Elliott - February Cherub
Stitched on 28 count evenweave dyed with fruit tea
I stitched the cherub's hair.
Day 7 - The Sampler House - Strawberry Sampler
Stitched on 32 count Antique White linen
This chart was part of a giveaway from Lee Under the Mountain. It is a very old hand-drawn chart from 1990 and I love it. There is a certain charm to hand-drawn charts.
Day 8 - Frosted Pumpkins Stitchery - Hallowe'en Town
Stitched on 28count Moondust evenweave by Crafty Kitten
I filled in some windows and a little bit of fence.
Day 9 - The Nutmeg Company - Sugared Almond Cottage
Roof stitched on 28 count Honeysuckle Pink evenweave.
This was a gift from Susan Yellow Flower Meadow. She has sent me three of these cute cottages charts and leftover threads. I hope mine will look as good as her's!
I'm actually getting into the swing of this challenge now. It was hard the first two days because I just wanted to carry on with the same project and not put it away knowing it would be a month until I could see it again. But now I am back at work and stitching on WIPs those days it is easier because I have an exciting new start to look forward to the next day!
Finally, three of these count for the Gifted Gorgeousness SAL I am running this year. And all of them count towards Stitch from Stash which I am also taking part in. So goals are being met!
Goals are being met alright! Good for you. Looks wonderful.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pieces, all of them! I'm glad you said that CJC starts could be included for Gifted Gorgeousness. I thought I was going to have to shoehorn them in!
ReplyDeleteOh your doing GREAT!! Lovely choices and beautiful stitching too :)
ReplyDeleteI wanted to join in the challenge too but got rather messed up what with that little hiccup in hospital! :(
I will graciously sit at the side line and spur you on... GO YOU!! lol
Yes Gifted Gorgeousness I can say I am participating in! On target with that one! hee hee
Happy stitching :)
Smiles :)
Great projects for the last few days! I also have one of those cottages in my stash to stitch one day, who knows when it will be but they are so cute! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat stitching Jo and lots of progress. They are all really pretty designs.
ReplyDeleteLinda
See that would be my problem too. I would want to keep stitching on what I had started already. But you are doing a great job!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful projects! Great job meeting so many goals already.
ReplyDeleteWonderful stitching!! Well done on your goals!
ReplyDeleteLovely stitching, the strawberry one is gorgeous, I don't think I'd have had the will power to put that one down
ReplyDeleteLove all of the projects you picked,
ReplyDeleteLove the Moondust fabric!
Marilyn
Hooray for meeting goals! :D At first I thought you had stitched an entire giant pink brick for the Almond Cottage, yikes!
ReplyDeleteSo great how the challenge is going for you. The fact that the whole month would be only starting new projects made me change the rules a bit for me. I only start SAL projects during the weekends so the remaining days are for my big projects.
ReplyDeleteYou are right, those old hand-drawn charts have a very special charm, I do love them and have three old ones among my BAPs.
I love the way that everyone has been able to interpret the challenge in their own way to suit their stitching needs - Debbie would have loved that.
DeleteLovely projects - Love the cottage….

You have worked on some beautiful projects and made great progress.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to see the next batch :)
Lovely stitching! I loved stitching Halloween Town by the Pumpkins. I think it's one of my most favorite designs I've ever stitched. It's so fun and the colors are so wonderful.
ReplyDeletegreat job with your WIPs! and good for you that you're keeping your mind focused on the goals, not so good for us watching your starts though. ;)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the cherub...and those little houses...and everything by Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery. Amazing Update, I hope to see more work in some of those soonish :D
ReplyDeleteHave fun with all your new starts Jo!! I know this challenge is right up your alley, plus it's fun for us to see what you make everyday :D With us packing and bean on the way, I won't be participating in many SALs or stuff but I sure can watch everyone have fun! Hugs to you :D
ReplyDeleteJo, you are roaring along now, lovely projects. I rocketed out of the blocks but have come to a screeching halt due to you know what and now I start back at work today!
ReplyDeleteLove your cherub!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great challenge and you are doing brilliantly - love the idea of mixing in more than one challenge at a time!!
I was like you at first - so want to keep stitching on some of these new starts..... but I am being good (except for my witch on the weekends) as I want to get all the new starts done and dusted and then have fun all year!!
Can't wait to see more of your stitching soon
Hugs xx
Love the Frosted Pumpkin piece.
ReplyDeleteOoh you're doing fantastically! I'm sure you would know this but I love Halloween Town the best. So cooool! xo Alicia
