WIPocalypse is hosted by Measi of Measi's Musings.
The main focus of my WIPocalypse this year is my "14 in '14" a list of 14 projects I wanted to complete in 2014. In the last month I have worked on three of the list. Here is the current stitching status of each one:
Primitive Hare - Spooky Countdown
The Little Stitcher - Twelve Days of Christmas
A Mon Ami Pierre - Noel Blanc
Measi has set us a question to answer each month just for fun, here is February's:
"How many projects do you generally feel comfortable having in progress at a time? Tell us about your one-at-a-time or rotation habits!"
I did rather cover this in my post for 10th February (oops!) but here are some more thoughts on the subject. I used to be a strict OAAT (One at a Time) stitcher. Start one and stitch until it is done. This was back in the pre-internet days when a double figure finish was a good year. Then I discovered the Forums and SALs. I joined in with a Mirabilia Mermaid SAL and then signed up for some Round Robins. And some Smalls Challenges. Before you could say "Serial Starter" I went from 28 finishes (2010) to 77 in 2011 Wowzer!!
I have never really got on with a strict rotation system either. Now I make a small list at the beginning of each month with any SALs, greetings cards, obligation stitching etc and then I work through that in order of due date. Any time left over goes on whatever I feel like that day.
I'm trying something new with the Noel Blanc piece, just stitching on it while the Small Boy is in the bath. So slow and steady. So far this is working well.
I'm looking forward to reading everyone else's replies to the Hot Topic!
Finally, the Secret Stitching Sweetheart Blog Hop is on today. Later tonight I will be going round checking all the posts are up. Remember our American friends rise rather later than us in the East so don't panic if some links aren't there yet.
Lovely stitching progress Jo.
ReplyDeleteHave a good week (:
Wonderful progress. My stitching path sounds a lot like yours but I never had anywhere near the number of finishes you did!
ReplyDeleteLovely stitching. I get stressed with rotations. I prefer to stitch on whatever I fancy at the time but dont have to many projects on the go cus again, I get stressed lol
ReplyDeleteGreat stitching. I especially like the blue and white.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the progress -- I am pretty certain that you will success in the 14 in 14! :)
ReplyDeleteI have never even bothered to try a rotation; I'm too much of a mood stitcher. I can go for weeks obsessed with one thing and one thing only and then work on a dozen different things in the next two days.
You know how much in awe I am of your finishing prowess. Lovely projects this post, Jo, as usual I might add!
ReplyDeleteThe little stitcher looks so cute :)
ReplyDeleteAll of your projects are great as always. We have pretty much the same ideas about stitching.
ReplyDeleteGreat progress Jo!!! Happy Valentines Day
ReplyDeleteLovely progress - I stitch on a rotation (http://aimetu-clare.blogspot.co.uk) and over a week work on about 5 or 6 pieces. It certainly works for me and I seem to get more stitching done.
ReplyDeleteWonderful progress on all your WIP's. Like the Mon pierre piece on that pretty blue. The blue makes me think of jeans :D
ReplyDeleteHmm. I thought I was a one at a time gal too until last night I looked at what I had on the go! I have 3 BAP's and 3 others on the go, plus an exchange to finish. That's a lot for me to have on the go!! I feel panicky having that many but when I read your number, I shouldn't be worried..right?!!
Good weekend!

ReplyDeleteAll good work!! Keep it up! I hope my finishes improve with all the SALs and groups I've joined, too!
ReplyDeleteWonderful stitching! The 12 Days of Christmas girl looks like she is having so much fun ice skating!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful stitching! I really like the A Mon Ami Pierre piece. Can't wait to see it all finished.
ReplyDeleteWhich reminds me, clicking on your link first (I generally don't choose the very 1st one but did this time) makes me rethink my post. I need to add a link to this SAL, lol!!
Thanks :)
Great progress on all three, the AMAP is gorgeous
ReplyDeleteLovely projects.
ReplyDeleteEverything is looking in wonderful! I especially like your white work piece.

Super progress on your projects Jo.
ReplyDeleteFor me, I have a reminder on my blog of stuff each month...the SAL's on Tues, Wed and Fri and of course the monthly ornament with Christine, other than that there are gifts to stitch/make and anything else that comes along in the spare days...clear as mud!
Beautiful WIPS! That monochrome is to die for!
ReplyDeleteYour projects are beautiful -- I especially like the last one on the blue fabric. I also love the idea of 14 in 14!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful stitching.
ReplyDeleteOMG is that what OAAT stands for? No wonder I didn't recognise the acronym. What is this OAAT you speak of??? I now have 51 wips so uhhhh OAAT...not.
ReplyDeleteHow long does your little one spend in the bath that you have time to work on a project? If I did that the kid would come out of there looking like a 93 year old man. LOL!
