Happy Blogaversary to Me!

Happy 2nd Blogaversary to me!

I couldn't find a photo of me and my cake, but this is my 2nd Birthday present, my trike.  Each one of those wheels was a different bright colour.  I hadn't forgotten my skirt either, this was the height of the swinging 60s and skirts really were that short!

While I think of it - Happy Birthday to Calamity Jr and Susan Yellow Flower Meadow too.

WOW

Back when I started this blog I was stitching Mirabilia's Bluebeard's Mermaid and the Dark Alphabet from A Note of Friendship.  A year later my Mermaid was finished and framed, the Dark Alphabet was close to completion too.  So far so good!  My only other WIP from the beginning of the blog is noofficially a UFO, an Art Nouveau Head stitched on aida.

My WIPS from one year ago are slightly more embarassing, Green Goddess and My Lovely Sewing Tools are still unfinished, but on the "13 in '13" list for this year.

So, my questions for my Blogaversary Giveaway are -

What were you stitching on last Easter?
And is it finished yet?  A WIP or a UFO?

Obviously if you have a blog this is an easy one to look up, but don't worry if you don't have one.  Just have a think back to last Easter, or look at your photos from then and see what you can work out.  After all, if you don't have proof, it's not like I can say "you made that up!"  This is just for fun LOL.

winner will be picked next Sunday 14th April and they will get a small something.  Not the Small Boy, you can't post livestock as I'm always telling the Large Boy when he suggests it!

The other big announcement, the Easter Treasure Hunt Blog Hop winner will be coming later this week!  I'm too old for too much excitement in one post LOL.  Besides, I'm giving you until midnight BST to enter the competition, this is your final chance.

Finally, Sunday was Finishing Day again.  Funny how Sundays often seem just right for a little sewing.  I found the backing fabric for the March JB cat and make him into a little ornie, and to sit next to him, the April cat.  Although Easter was in March this year, it is more often in April so I went for a Chocolate Cat!

And all four together:

  5. Happy Blogoversary Jo. I would love to be entered in your giveaway. Easter Sunday I would have been working on one of the borders for Boo Club. I am still working on it so it is a WIP.

  7. Very cute finishes! The charms are perfect. Thank you for the birthday wishes! Well, last April I showed 6 things on my blog and four of them are finished. The other 2 are not even in my current rotation but are still on my WIP list so will eventually have their chance in the rotation.

  14. Happy blogaversary Jo - and I love the picture of 2 year old you with her new trike :-)

Looking back on my blog in April last year I was stitching on Rules for Life which is currently a UFO, Sleeping Beauty's Castle which is a WIP and a baby sampler which I have finished :-) 1 out of 3 isn't too bad - but that's only the projects I talked about in April!!

  15. Happy Blogaversary!
What a great idea! I looked up this time last year on my blog: apparently, I was furiously knitting wee animals for friends` kids at the time, plus made a Mr. Bean-style teddy for my son`s Easter surprise. The only stitching I could find around that time was a small(ish) label for a scrapbook I made for my Gran`s birthday.
I love your ornies, I think they look gorgeous and the charms are perfect for each month. Can`t wait to see the next ones! xx

  16. Happy blogoversary to you Jo!!

Last Easter(ish) time I was finishing off Garden Shed and getting it framed. Wow, I didn't realise it had been a year! I still smile every time I was past it.

Here's to many more years of enjoying your blog :)

  19. Happy Blogoversary Jo.
The cats looks super all together like that, well done.

According to the blog, last Easter, i'd stitched a Christmas ornament, a birthday card for my SIL's mum, and Shores was the biggie on the frame. Yes, it's still there but almost complete now i am on Block 11. I also had LHN The Rain Fell on the frame and that now sits in my 'to finish off' drawer.

  22. Wow, is it two years already? Congrats, and doesn't time just fly. As always, I had lots of projects on the go last Easter - I'd just picked up the Marjorie Massey mono on checked linen, which I finished at the end of the year; BBD's Midnight Watch got finished too in 2012; and so did Madame Chantilly's Polka Dot Matrioskas. Châtelaine's Spring Knotgarden, on the other hand, is being very much neglected...

  24. This time last year I was frantically stitching away on a wedding gift for my two friends, they were away in Florida for the wedding. I could not make it due to money restrictions at the time so instead was sat in Scotland at the in laws desperately trying to get it finished...it only ended up been 2 months late!

    Happy blogoversary! :)

  34. Happy blogiversary!! I can tell you without looking that whatever I was stitching last Easter isn't finished, LOL!! Oh wait...I actually DID finish Random Thoughts. Hmmm, that doesn't sound like me, does it?? After checking with the blog, it appears I was also stitching Les Rubans, which is DEFINITELY not finished. Looks like I also started a sweater the next weekend (still not done), even though I already had one on the needles (still not done)...yeah. That sounds more like me!

    I love the monthly cats!
