I often think about that - I regret a few things that have happened in my past, as I'm sure everyone does, but I wonder if I changed them would I be the same person I am right now, with the same life I have right now? I like the life I have, so I wouldn't want it to change. I'd love to be able to go back to mediaeval times, but probably not to stay, I think I'm a bit too spoiled with 21st century sanitation.
My sliding doors story is about friends of mine. I'd gone up to London for the afternoon/evening (I lived in Maidenhead at the time) as I was doing a course related to work, and met up with my friend at the University union afterwards for a pint (he was doing post-grad work at one of the London colleges).
Time came to leave and get my train home and I was crossing the zebra crossing outside the union and a motorbike had to pull up to let me cross, and this female voice screams my name. When I turned around the biker was an old school friend whom I'd lost touch with a couple of years before. (Bear in mind that this is London and I went to school in Tyne & Wear). Anyway, much as I would have loved to stop and catch up with her I reluctantly point out that I have to go or I'll miss the train, to which she responds that she lives literally 100 yards round the corner and I can stay with her and get an early train the next morning. So I say OK I'd love that, but first why doesn't she come into the union and meet my friend...
They've been married for about 30 years nowChristinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04614377822656512086noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1358298815279665923.post-23088900498911842482015-02-19T11:08:11.536+00:002015-02-19T11:08:11.536+00:00Lovely progress on the halloween cubes.

All night I was looking at this cute guy at the music, but i was too shy to say hello. Never saw him again.
2009, stalking the picture of one of my friend on facebook. One particuarily catch my attention, 5 guys at the beach. Looked at one of them and think : my god, he is soooo cute. Click on the name. Saw he was studying in some university 6 hours from my house. Forgot about him.
2012, got into Montreal the biggest city of my province (state). Went to some university party. Met a cute guy who came from the same town as me. Never met him before, how strange? Told me he went to some other university in another city. That night he had to go home early. Forgot about him, chances to met him again were low.
Some months later, met that guy at school. Added him on Facebook. Stalked the picture. Saw THAT picture of the 5 guys at the beach. Was it him, really?
2014, living together since 2012. Him talking about Martingale, a math process. Me saying : Omg, went to the college party in 2007 at some place called Martingale !
Him : Aww me, too. I was the music guy.

Yes, it was him, since the beginning.
Would I change something in my life ? Never :)

(Okay, I'm lying. I would have spent less when living at my parents house, when life didn't cost a cent. And maybe worked more at college to have better grades and maybe receive grants lol)

Merlynnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13026990250310774671noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1358298815279665923.post-71971817978936520972015-02-19T04:25:44.474+00:002015-02-19T04:25:44.474+00:00Great orts, Jo :-) And what an interesting thought...Great orts, Jo :-) And what an interesting thought. I don't think I'd change anything in my past if I could because, hindsight being 20/20, I can see how all the events in my past have led to my current life. I like your thoughts on King Arthur; that's always fascinated me, too.
