Stitch from Stash February Update

Stitch From Stash 2014
Stitch from Stash is hosted by Mel from Epic Stitching

Essentially the idea behind Stitch from Stash is that we are limited to spending US$25 (or £15) per month.  There are various exemptions (Birthday money, existing mag subs, clubs etc) but the idea is not to try and pervert the rules and to stitch some of that stash!  I will be posting on or around the 20th of each month because that is when I get paid!

Money from Christmas 2013
£ 40.00
January Budget
£ 15.00
January Spend
£ 25.84
Balance
£ 29.16

WOCS mag for DMC
£   4.99
TW book Ebay
£   9.00
2 x Just Nans FB Stash Page
£   5.00

Balance
£ 10.17
February Budget
£ 15.00
Available to carry forward to March
£ 25.17

Allowed purchases:
Jodyri Threads of Month Club : £ 5.54
Cross Stitch Collection mag sub for three issues : £ 11.39

The WOCS magazine was an interesting purchase to debate.  I subscribe to it already as an allowable expense.  In that particular issue was a Joan Elliott design one of my American friends loved.  I offered to buy the magazine and mail it to her in exchange for DMC threads as JoAnn's had a three for a dollar offer on that weekend.  So I decided to put the cost of the magazine into my budget to be fair.

Here is the bargain Teresa Wentzler book I bought from Ebay:

And here are the designs found inside:

I already have two of Teresa's books and a number of her charts but this was too good to resist at that price!  I haven't received the Just Nan charts yet because they are coming from the States.

New Starts from Stash: Vampire for Hallowe'en Ornie SAL
WIPs and UFOs worked on: Scarlet Letter Elizabeth Burrows (finished), A Mon Ami Pierre Noel Blanc, Primitive Hare Spooky Countdown, The Little Stitcher 12 Days of Christmas.

Brooke's Books Vampire

Noel Blanc, a little bird, possibly a robin.

The other two WIPs have been shown already and I am saving Elizabeth for a post of her own.  Today is Nicola's Birthday and marks the end of the official Scarlet Letter Challenge.   We reached the grand total of 160 finishes over the course of the challenge, amazing isn't it?

(Freebie no longer available)

Finally, to be organised I have set up a page just for freebie links here - Themed Freebie Links  I have included Valentine's Day, Easter and Hallowe'en so far.  Christmas and random others to follow!

Well done on sticking to the budget. It might just be me, but at the moment it looks as if your vampire is wearing a little red cocktail dress?

You are doing great with the SFS challenge with all the new designs popping up wherever you look. At least it seems to me like that, lol.
That TW book is just gorgeous, I recognize some of the designs in the book.

The budget is an interesting idea. I'd probably be ashamed of myself if I actually ran a tally. Blushes!
